EXPORT PROCESS / YUYAN
Cross-border equipment purchasing is not just a comparison of list prices: you must identify the exact machine, how the goods will be handed over, which costs are included, and which documents the contract requires.
First confirm the equipment and the destination
Final quotations, routes, delivery times, taxes and documentation will be determined by the formal contract for each order and the actual method of transport.01 / THE FIVE STEPS
From submitting your request to confirming the specific equipment and delivery terms, you can advance procurement in the following order.
Specify the model or tonnage, equipment use, destination country, destination port, budget, and desired timing.
Start with the reference models; then, according to use, preferred year, budget, and destination port, identify options actually available for supply.
Verify separately the documentation, inspection method, price, validity, and delivery scope for new machinery and used machinery.
Before signing, clarify both parties’ responsibilities, the method to verify the receiving accounts, the transport method, and key milestones.
Based on the equipment’s dimensions, weight and the port conditions, confirm container loading, framed crate or other suitable method; then deliver the agreed photos and documents as per the contract.
Invoices, packing list, bill of lading and other documents, as well as responsibility for import clearance, will be governed by the order, the route, the destination country’s requirements and the contract.
02 / TRADE TERMS
FOB, CIF and similar are international trade terms, not synonyms for "includes customs clearance, taxes and delivery to site." The term, the named port/place, the version and the boundaries of costs and risks must be stated in the quotation and the contract.
FOB/CIF apply to sea or inland waterway transport; container or multimodal shipments require evaluating appropriate terms such as FCA, CPT, CIP at the actual handover point.
Currency, the machine itself, preparation for shipment, freight, insurance and destination-port related charges should be listed item by item.
In your quotation, distinguish equipment preparation, estimated loading date and estimated arrival date; booking and customs progress will be communicated after you confirm the order.
Permits, tariffs, customs clearance and registration requirements in the destination country must be verified by you with local compliance advisors according to the specific equipment.
Import procedures and contractual responsibilities will be agreed based on the actual destination and written terms.
