YUYAN Buying Guide / New equipment

How to choose new machinery for your project

When buying new machines, start from the task the equipment must perform, not from a single price. This guide follows the actual buying sequence: define the job, translate the working conditions into verifiable parameters, check destination conditions — climate, altitude and fuel — distinguish between YUYAN-made machines and machines of other brands supplied on request, and finally include configuration and the loading port in your inquiry. Site photos, specifications and reference FOB prices can help you build a shortlist; final configuration, supply arrangements and delivery times are confirmed in the written documentation for each inquiry.

Key points

  1. Describe the work and site conditions first, then compare models: within the same category, operating weight and implement greatly change suitability.
  2. Destination climate, altitude, diesel quality and transport conditions affect configuration choices, especially engine emissions level, cooling and air filtration.
  3. YUYAN brand new machines are manufactured by Hefei Yuyan Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.; new machines of other brands are supplied or sourced on request, and each origin requires different documentation.
  4. Website FOB amounts are for initial budgeting only; a formal quotation must specify model, configuration, quantity, loading port and Incoterm.
01

Define the job before choosing the category

Excavating, truck loading, grading, short-haul transport and urban utilities work need different machines despite all being earthmoving. Before quoting, write one or two sentences about what the machine will do each day, the ground it will work on, and the trucks or equipment it must match—this yields a more suitable proposal than giving only a model name.

The table lists common tasks and the equipment categories to compare first to narrow your choices; the final decision should be based on the rated parameters of the specific model.

Frequent tasks and equipment categories to compare first (starting point, not a final decision)
Main taskCategories to compareWhat to add to your inquiry
Urban networks, road maintenance and small multi-task jobsBackhoe loaders, such as YUYAN 388 and 366TRequired digging depth, loader bucket capacity, frequency of relocation

02

Convert the intended use into verifiable parameters

Once you’ve chosen a category, convert your needs into comparable numbers. For excavators check operating weight, bucket capacity, maximum digging depth and engine power first; for loaders check rated payload, bucket capacity and discharge height; for backhoe loaders evaluate both the front loader and rear digging functions. Product pages list model parameters to build a comparison; before signing, verify them against the configuration in the offer.

Beyond base machine specs, the implement and optional equipment often determine whether the machine can work immediately. If you plan to use a hydraulic breaker, confirm the machine has an auxiliary hydraulic line; if the machine will move between sites by road frequently, compare wheeled and tracked options and check local limits on transport dimensions and weight.

  • Operating weight and transport dimensions: affect shipping method and whether road transport requires permits.
  • Bucket or attachments: capacity, teeth and quick couplers should match material density and work type.
  • Hydraulics and auxiliary lines: breakers, shears and other attachments need the correct lines and flow.
  • Cab and controls: air conditioning, seat, instrument panel and controls influence performance during long shifts.

03

Check destination conditions: climate, altitude and fuel

The same machine performs very differently in a coastal port city, a tropical zone or the Andean highlands. In hot, humid climates check cooling capacity and cab air conditioning; on dusty sites check air filtration; at high altitude, thinner air reduces engine output — ask the supplier for expected performance or recommended configuration for your project altitude.

Fuel quality matters. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) notes that emissions control devices on new-generation off-road diesel engines such as Tier 4 can be damaged by sulfur, so these engines require ultra-low sulfur diesel with a maximum of 15 ppm. The UN Environment Programme reports that developed countries have reduced diesel sulfur to 10 ppm, while many developing countries still have much higher levels. When requesting a quote, state the country where you will operate the equipment and what diesel grades are available locally, and confirm that the engine’s emission level is compatible with that fuel and with import requirements.

  • State the country, project altitude, and main operating season.
  • Specify the diesel grades available locally; if unsure, ask a local dealer or fuel supplier to confirm.
  • If the destination country has engine emissions or equipment registration requirements, have a local specialist verify them and include those requirements in the purchase conditions in writing.

ImportantThis site does not draw conclusions about any country’s emissions, registration, or import permits; the requirements of the destination authority and its local advisor prevail.

04

Distinguish the origin: YUYAN brand made by us or other brands sourced on request.

Hefei Yuyan Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. manufactures new machines under the YUYAN brand. New machines of other brands shown on the site are supplied or sourced on request and are not manufactured by the YUYAN plant. You may request quotes for both sources, but you must verify different documents for each and the machine origin must be stated in the offer and contract.

If you want to see the machine, request a video call or an on-site visit when you inquire; timing and arrangements are agreed once the equipment is confirmed.

05

Include configuration, quantity and loading port in your inquiry.

Reference FOB prices help you estimate the budget range but are not final quotations. In a formal inquiry, state model, configuration, quantity, destination country and destination port, and the Incoterm you want to compare. When you receive the quote, check currency, validity period, Incoterm with named port, what the price includes, and the estimated timing.

  1. Equipment category and target model, plus any alternative models you would accept.
  2. Primary operating conditions, destination country and project altitude.
  3. Required work attachments, accessories and any special configurations.
  4. Quantity, budget range and planned purchase date.
  5. Destination port and Incoterm you want for the quote, for example FOB China port or CFR destination port.

If you are still comparing several models, tell us the task and budget; our sales team will prepare comparable options based on representative models.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who manufactures YUYAN-brand new machines?

New YUYAN-brand machines are manufactured by Hefei Yuyan Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. New machines of other brands shown on the website are supplied or sourced on request and are not manufactured by YUYAN.

Can I use the website parameters as the contractual configuration?

No. The site specifications are model data for comparison; before signing, the configuration sheet and the written documents of the current offer prevail.

How to choose for high-altitude sites or where diesel quality is poor?

When requesting a quotation, state the project altitude and the local diesel specification. New-generation emission control systems typically require ultra-low sulfur diesel; the engine configuration must be compatible with the local fuel and with import requirements, as confirmed by the supplier and the destination authority.

Does the reference FOB price include freight?

No. FOB means delivery at the loading port in China; sea freight, insurance, destination port charges, import taxes and inland transport are confirmed separately.
